Arthur de Haast is an International Director of Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:<br />
JLL), the world’s leading real estate services and money management firm. He is the<br />
<strong>Global</strong> CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, the specialist division of the company<br />
that provides wide ranging advice to major hotel companies and hotel investors<br />
globally. The division employs a team of more than 187 professionals operating in<br />
23 offices worldwide.<br />

In 2006 this team closed on 186 hotel transactions globally; representing a combined<br />
value of US$9.3 billion, a total of 43,272 hotel rooms in 78 cities. In addition,<br />
the team provided advisory and valuation expertise on 136,270 rooms across<br />
approximately 280 cities.<br />
Arthur has extensive experience within the global hotel market having led a<br />
wide range of both transactional and advisory assignments. He is also a regular<br />
commentator on the global hotel investment market, speaking frequently at major<br />
conferences, and is regularly quoted in leading industry publications.<br />

Born in Lisbon in July 1958, Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo graduated in<br />
economics.<br />
In 1983, he joined Morgan Grenfell & Co, in London as assistant manager.<br />
In 1989, he became Director of Espirito Santo Investment Management in London,<br />
an asset management company specialized in investing in Southern European<br />
Countries.<br />
In 1992, he was appointed General Manager of Banco Espirito Santo, London<br />
Branch.<br />
In 1996, he moved to Portugal and became member of Espirito Santo Group<br />
Executive Committee, with the responsibility for all non-financial activities of the<br />
Group. Through Espirito Santo Resources, the group is involved in tourism, real<br />
estate, construction, mining, agriculture and health sectors.<br />
Espirito Santo <strong>Tourism</strong> holds all the tourism related activities of the Group, which<br />
includes the Tivoli chain of hotels in Portugal, ES Viagens, the largest travel agency<br />
and tour operator also in Portugal and 5 golf courses. Recently the Group acquired<br />
Praia do Forte Eco Resort, a 300 bedroom resort in the State of Bahia, in Brazil.<br />
Today, Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo is a Board Member of Espirito Santo<br />
International Holding, Espirito Santo Financial Group, Banco Espirito Santo and<br />
Chairman of Espirito Santo Resources and Espirito Santo <strong>Tourism</strong>.<br />
Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo is married with three children.<br />
