Prerequisites
A basic background in logic control and digital
computer techniques. Prior completion of Control
Logic Configuration (PCS7-CLC) is recommended.
Description
This course for maintenance personnel describes the
various components in the PCS7 system and maintaining
the system using the engineering workstation or
project delivered tools. Students will navigate through
their project to understand the HW and Logic configuration,
configure the valve position feedback instrumentation,
and understand the various protection
devices.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student
has been trained to:
• Troubleshoot PCS7 system logic using the
engineering workstation
• Initialize standard settings on communication and
I/O cards
• Distinguish between hardware and software
problems
• Configure the valve feedback instrumentation
• Understand the turbine trip string
