the grdc team Board members Keith Perrett Chair (Non-executive) Keith Perrett was appointed the GRDC’s Chair in October 2007, reappointed until 30 September 2013. Keith who is well known in the grains industry, runs a mixed grain, sheep and cattle property near Gunnedah in New South Wales. He has had extensive experience in the grains industry as both a producer and industry leader with organisations such as The Grains Council of Australia and NSW Farmers Association. John Harvey Managing Director (Executive) John joined the GRDC in November 1997 as Program Manager Farming Systems. He became Manager R&D Programs in 2001, Executive Manager Varieties in 2005 and Managing Director in March 2011. John’s background is in agricultural extension and research, development and extension (RD&E) management. He previously worked with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries. Nicole Birrell Director (Non-executive) Nicole runs a risk management consulting business and a mixed farming enterprise at Corowa, NSW. Nicole has more than 28 years’ experience in corporate and investment banking. Colin Butcher Director (Non-executive) Colin is a grain producer from Brookton in WA. His farming business produces wheat, canola, barley, and hay for export, and sheep for meat and wool. He has extensive experience in the grains industry and a strong interest in the management and conservation of natural resources. Jenny Goddard Director (Non-executive) Jenny runs her own business as an economic consultant. She has 23 years of experience as an economic policy adviser to the Australian Government. Jenny has an extensive understanding of government policies, processes and administration. Steve Marshall Director (Non-executive) Steve has a background in food science and technology management. He was Managing Director of Goodman Fielder Ingredients Ltd from 1993 to 1998 and Technology Director of Goodman Fielder Ltd from 1999 to 2001. Tim Reeves Director (Non-executive) Tim is a consultant in agriculture R&D, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management and international development. He recently returned from Mexico, where he was Director General of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT). Graeme Robertson Director (Non-executive) Graeme has been the Director of Curtin University’s School of Agriculture and Environment (the Muresk Institute) since March 2004. Previously, Graeme spent ten years as Director General of the Western Australian Department of Agriculture and was the inaugural Chair of the Land and Water Resources Research and Development Corporation.
