The Freedom FlashGard ® Motor Control Centre -
industry's first and only MCC designed for comprehensive arc
flash prevention - provides protection features that enable
electrical workers to operate and perform maintenance work on
the MCC in an “arc-free” environment.
At the core of FlashGard MCC's arc flash safety featureset is a
state of the art stab racking mechanism called RotoTract TM
(patent pending).The RotoTract TM mechanism enables bus
isolation and provides stab position indication as well as lockout
features that proactively prevent arc flash scenarios.

Prevention: Insulation and
Isolation
Insulated horizontal and
labyrinth vertical bus.
Shutters to isolate the vertical
bus when a unit is removed.
Shutters on the unit to isolate
when the wrapper is removed.
Finger-safe components inside
the units.
Maintaining Unit Door Closed
Disconnect units from vertical
bus with door closed.
Interlock prevents removal of
unit from vertical bus.
Interlock prevents insertion of
unit with stabs extended.
A more uniform and secure
connection to the vertical bus.
