Personal accident insurance, olycksfallsförsäkring, for example,<br />

provides you with benefits if you should have an<br />

accident that results in disability. It also compensates you<br />

for certain expenses you would otherwise have to pay<br />

yourself, such as patient fees at the hospital and treatment<br />

by a physiotherapist.<br />

Pension insurance, pensionsförsäkring, gives you more<br />

money to live on when you grow old. Private health insurance,<br />

sjukförsäkring, gives you more to live on if you fall ill,<br />

and life insurance, livförsäkring, gives the rest of your family<br />

money if you should die. There are also special children’s<br />

insurance policies, barnförsäkringar, that provide extra<br />

benefits for children who have long-term illnesses or accidents.<br />
