Celebrate Celtic music Sunday<br />

Bagpiper Bob Leslie of<br />

Bryan will headline the<br />

April 18 celebration of Celtic<br />

music at First Presbyterian<br />

Church in Bridgeport.<br />

The free concert is at 3<br />

p.m. at the church, 1307<br />

Newby. The public is invited<br />

to bring a canned food<br />

donation for the <strong>Wise</strong> Area<br />

Relief Mission.<br />

Leslie will be joined on<br />

the program by several<br />

musicians who will perform<br />

music from Scotland, Ireland<br />

and Wales. He will play three<br />

different types of bagpipes<br />

and will perform “Amazing<br />

Grace” for the processional<br />

and recessional.<br />

The program also includes<br />

Tony Harveson, piano; Linda<br />

Kennedy, vocals; June Lewis,<br />

piano; April Cowling, violin<br />

and fiddle; Sharon Curry,<br />

vocals; Jason Curry, guitar;<br />

Mishi Schumann Juarez,<br />

Leslie is pastor emeritus of<br />

First Presbyterian Church<br />

in Bryan. He was a member<br />

of the faculty of the Texas<br />

A&M University College of<br />

Medicine from 1990 to 2004.<br />

He served two pastoral<br />

exchanges in Scotland.<br />

ompeted at the SkillsUSA Texas Leaderhip<br />

and Skills Conference March 25-27 in<br />

orpus Christi and came home with awards<br />

Cassidy Drevicky’s motorcycle project and<br />

ric Pedroza and Juan Martinez’s speaker<br />

ox project were both rated “superior,” while<br />

he speaker box was named best of show.<br />

Michael Darrow placed third in automoive<br />

manual drive train.<br />

Marisol Banuelos was third in the First<br />

Aid/CPR.<br />

The Knowledge Quiz Bowl team of Ariel<br />

Salinas, Harminder Singh, Crystal Morris,<br />

Nicole Sellers, Ricky Samono and Oscar Rivera<br />

advanced to the top eight.<br />

The opening and closing presentation team<br />

of Ethan Alexander (president), Ariel Salinas<br />

(vice president), Megan Kirklelie (secretary),<br />

Ricky Samano (treasurer), Summer Miller<br />

(reporter), Oscar Rivera (parliamentarian),<br />
