Capacity Building:<br />

Micro Enterprise Training: Conducted Micro Enterprise Training for Eastern Region<br />
in which 20 NGO members participated<br />
Agarbathy Project: Collaborated with ITC Limited and initiated Agarbathy training<br />
for member NGOs in which 50 people were trained to make quality agarbathies. It is<br />
a buy back arrangement where ITC is giving the raw material and buying back the<br />
finished product.<br />
♦ Retail Management: Conducted a Training session for an inclusive group of 40<br />
Volunteers belonging our member NGOs, management students, Persons with<br />
disabilities & marginalized groups who were later taken on a short term assignment<br />
as sales persons to manage stalls at the Dilli Haat & IITF Fairs. The training was on<br />
inventory management, sales, customer handling, store management, billing, cash<br />
management, customer relationship management etc.<br />

Packaging & Branding: Aloe Vera Products were picked for packaging and branding<br />
under ARUNIM umbrella<br />
Enterprise Management & Business Development Plan: This year the main focus<br />
has been the transition from sheltered workshops to micro enterprises. Thus ARUNIM<br />
launched Economic Enterprise & Empowerment challenge <strong>2010</strong> to <strong>National</strong> <strong>Trust</strong>’s &<br />
ARUNIM members to generate the business ideas and send their proposals.<br />
During the process –<br />
• Training on the process of transition & Economic Enterprise & Empowerment was<br />
conducted<br />
• 2 day workshop on “Writing a winning Business Proposal” was conducted for all<br />
the applicants of Economic Enterprise & Empowerment competition<br />
• Business Development Toolkit was made in English & Hindi<br />
6 Pilot projects have been selected as ARUNIM’s pilot projects for this year. They<br />
would be mentored and supported to start an enterprise. For this ARUNIM partnered<br />
with <strong>National</strong> <strong>Trust</strong>, <strong>National</strong> Skill Development Corporation & UNDP<br />

ARUNIM has launched its 3 permanent retail stores in Dilli Haat, Pitampura<br />

• India International Trade Fair (Got 8 stalls for the period of 14 days)<br />
• Shilpotsav Chennai <strong>2010</strong> (Got 3 stalls for 1½ month)<br />
