14 Council Plan 2010-2014 The Council Plan identifies Council’s vision and objectives over the period of 2010-2014.
It provides guidance and direction to the organisation by setting organisational goals,
outcomes, strategies, actions, resource requirements and performance measures. The key
strategic goals of the Council Plan are:

Appropriate Infrastructure
A Leading Organisation
15 Annual Plan 2012-13 The annual plan outlines Council’s priorities for operating, capital and maintenance
programs in the 2013 financial year. The issues identified in the Council Plan are
addressed by objectives that can be achieved in 2012- 2013.
Under the key goal of ‘a vibrant engaged community’ the following strategy and action are
identified
Strategy 1.1.1: A community that embraces equity, access and inclusion and enables all
people to be part of the South Gippsland Shire’s life, culture and celebrations.
Action: An Integrated ‘Growth Areas’ Community Plan developed incorporating:

16 South Gippsland Municipal
Public Health & Wellbeing Plan
(2010-12)
The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan examines the health, social and
community issues affecting South Gippsland now, and in the future, and from this
information identifies a set of key strategic issues to be achieved.
Strategic objectives of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan that are of relevance include:
To advocate for provision of appropriate health infrastructure.
To promote mental health and wellbeing.
To promote physical activity and active communities.
To promote an engaged and actively involved community.
To develop more people focused townscapes
Relevant strategies relating to the need to development more people oriented townships are:
Advocate for transport corridor upgrades and Heavy Vehicle alternate routes (Council Plan Action 3.3.2 B)
Encourage local businesses to contribute to the walk-ability of towns
Improve accessibility of the built environment through application of “Access for All” principles and Standards
Investigate the introduction of a Recharge Scheme for the charging of electric scooters
