TRAFFIC Whitminster is situated on the A38, which travels in a North South direction through the Parish and which is one of the main commuter routes from Bristol to Gloucester. The M5 is the major commuter route near to Whitminster and is accessed at junction 13 in the south east corner of Whitminster parish within one mile. The traffic through route in the centre of the village is via School Lane. School Lane is one of two access routes to Frampton-On-Severn, and continues to Saul and Arlingham and the River Severn. TRANSPORT Whitminster is well served by public transport. There are regular bus services to Bristol, Gloucester and Dursley. The A419 starts in a East to West direction just south of the village but unfortunately no local bus services operate in that direction from Whitminster. The Village Link bus has also stopped operating in the area. It has been replaced by a regular but infrequent subsidised service. School services to Severn Vale School at Quedgeley, Berkeley Vale in Berkeley, Rednock School in Dursley and the Downfield Schools in Stroud are operated by private bus services, supported by the Gloucestershire County Council. Stroud Ring and Ride supply a transport service, mainly for disabled and older people, in Stroud. This service covers Whitminster. It is a service where you can pre book transport to a specific address from your home address. Notice would need to be given of the departure times to and from the required place. Rail services operate from Gloucester, Stroud, Stonehouse, Cam and Dursley with excellent links to London, Birmingham and Cardiff. National Coaches main stop is in Gloucester but pickups are available in Stonehouse and Stroud.
