registrations will be accepted beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g September 17. You’ll f<strong>in</strong>d the registration<br />
card <strong>in</strong> this brochure. Walk-<strong>in</strong> registration will beg<strong>in</strong> on September<br />
22 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center from 8:00 AM <strong>to</strong> noon. Please<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude a copy <strong>of</strong> the certificate from the most recent swim lesson completed.<br />
Children can be tested at the W<strong>in</strong>dsor High School pool on Saturday,<br />
September 15 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.<br />
Lap Fitness Swims: Sundays from noon <strong>to</strong> 1:00 PM beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g<br />
September 30 and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 PM <strong>to</strong><br />
9:00 PM with two lanes available beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 1. Also, Saturdays<br />
from 1:00 PM <strong>to</strong> 2:00 PM, beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 6.<br />
Family Open Swims: Sundays from 1:00 PM <strong>to</strong> 4:00 PM beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Fees: $2.50 per adult; $1.50 per child and $1.50 per senior. Passes are<br />
$53.00 per adult, $27.00 for a child or senior and $105.00 for a family<br />
pass.<br />
Learn <strong>to</strong> Swim Lessons: Fifty m<strong>in</strong>utes lessons (10 classes) are held<br />
on Saturdays from September 29. F<strong>in</strong>d your swim level and then see the<br />
swim times below. Fees are $27.00 for one child, $42.00 for two children<br />
and $58.00 for a family.<br />
Water Adjustment is for children ages 4 <strong>to</strong> 6 where children are separated<br />
by ability and taught various skills from Levels 1 and 2.<br />
Water Exploration Red Cross Level I is where children become<br />
adjusted <strong>to</strong> the water, learn<strong>in</strong>g prone floats and kicks. Children learn <strong>to</strong> be<br />
comfortable <strong>in</strong> the horizontal position with their face <strong>in</strong> the water.<br />
Primary Skill Red Cross Level II is where float<strong>in</strong>g is taught <strong>in</strong>dependently.<br />
The crawl and backstroke are covered and deep water is explored.<br />
Aquatics<br />
All programs are at the W<strong>in</strong>dsor High School <strong>in</strong><strong>do</strong>or pool. Phone 688-9694.<br />
Stroke Read<strong>in</strong>ess Red Cross Level III <strong>in</strong>troduces tread<strong>in</strong>g water,<br />
div<strong>in</strong>g, underwater swimm<strong>in</strong>g, the elementary backstroke kick and the<br />
crawl and backstroke.<br />
Stroke Development Red Cross Level IV teaches breaststroke and<br />
sidestroke kicks, elementary backstroke, distance <strong>in</strong> the backstroke, rotary<br />
breath<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the crawl. Div<strong>in</strong>g, rescue skills and turns are also covered.<br />
Stroke Ref<strong>in</strong>ement: Red Cross Level V covers lap swim <strong>in</strong> the<br />
crawl, back and elementary backstrokes, complete breaststroke and sidestroke<br />
skills, <strong>in</strong>troduces the <strong>do</strong>lph<strong>in</strong> kick and teaches div<strong>in</strong>g from the board<br />
and utiliz<strong>in</strong>g turns.<br />
Stroke Pr<strong>of</strong>iciency Red Cross Level VI <strong>in</strong>troduces the butterfly<br />
stroke, more turns, surface and hurdle dives and basic rescues. Swimmers<br />
become comfortable <strong>in</strong> all strokes by ref<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g techniques and build<strong>in</strong>g<br />
endurance.<br />
