Hartford Hospital’s Parent Education Program, <strong>in</strong><br />

collaboration with the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> W<strong>in</strong>dsor’s Healthy<br />

People Initiative, is pleased <strong>to</strong> provide Preparation<br />

for Childbirth at the Hartford Hospital W<strong>in</strong>dsor<br />

Healthcare Center, 1060 Day Hill Road W<strong>in</strong>dsor.<br />

This three-part series will <strong>in</strong>clude two classes on<br />

the labor and delivery process, relaxation &<br />

breath<strong>in</strong>g, comfort techniques, role <strong>of</strong> the birth<br />

partner, pa<strong>in</strong> relief options and cesarean birth.<br />

Part three* <strong>of</strong> the series will focus on parent<strong>in</strong>g<br />

issues and what <strong>to</strong> expect the first three months<br />

with your new baby. Upcom<strong>in</strong>g classes are scheduled<br />

for Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 10, 17, 24* December 12, 19,<br />

W<strong>in</strong>dsor’s 2001 Leaf Collection Program<br />

Starts on Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 22.<br />

In Connecticut, leaf recycl<strong>in</strong>g is manda<strong>to</strong>ry. In W<strong>in</strong>dsor, the landfill<br />

not only accepts your leaves, but also uses them <strong>to</strong> produce nice, rich<br />

compost. This compost is available at the landfill, which can be<br />

contacted at (860) 285-1833 for further <strong>in</strong>formation.<br />

This year, W<strong>in</strong>dsor’s leaf collection program starts on Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 22<br />

and ends on December 14. W<strong>in</strong>dsor Sanitation will pick up your leaves<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g this period on the same day as your trash pick-up.<br />

Here are some th<strong>in</strong>gs you can <strong>do</strong> <strong>to</strong> make this easier for everyone:<br />

Use 30 <strong>to</strong> 40 gallon paper leaf bags. No plastic bags, please.<br />

Place your bags at the curb.<br />

If you use your own conta<strong>in</strong>ers, please label them with a “Leaves<br />

Only” sticker. These stickers are available at the Community Health<br />

Services <strong>of</strong>fice at <strong>Town</strong> Hall)<br />

If you choose <strong>to</strong> self-haul your leaves <strong>to</strong> the landfill, there is no charge<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g this period for clean loads <strong>of</strong> leaves. The landfill is open Monday<br />

through Saturday 8:00 AM <strong>to</strong> 4:15 PM and is located at 500<br />

Huckleberry Road, W<strong>in</strong>dsor.<br />

Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 11: The Clover Street School<br />

PTA meets <strong>to</strong>day from 7:00 PM <strong>to</strong> 8:00 PM.<br />

Commerce at 9:00 AM and the job will be f<strong>in</strong>ished<br />

zoo, fun run, giant caterpillar, a hayride and a<br />

pumpk<strong>in</strong> <strong>to</strong> take home. Br<strong>in</strong>g a picnic lunch.<br />
