Areas
The Arts
From photography to theater, the visual
arts to storytelling - the arts help girls’
creativity come alive. Girl Scouting
encourages girls to view the world
through the eyes of discovery by helping
them develop their creativity, follow their
instincts, and hone their communication
skills. Girl Scouts open the world up for
their interpretation and create whatever
they dream up!
Environmental
Awareness
Through Girl Scouting, girls see the earth
as their home – a place where they
care for the environment, practice
conservation, and lay a foundation for
future generations. Whether they’re
learning about endangered wildlife,
developing creative recycling projects, or
taking action with eco-friendly
community projects, girls are deepening
their awareness of their environment and
learning how they can make a
difference.
Life Skills
Girl Scouting teaches girls everyday life
skills such as healthy living habits,
financial literacy, career explorations,
and leadership development. Every
girl deserves to live a healthy life
emotionally and physically, develop
practical skills that provide financial
literacy, explore a variety of career
opportunities, and let her voice be heard
as she develops her own personal
leadership style.
Science,
Technology,
Engineering, and
Math (STEM)
Girl Scouting introduces girls of
every age to science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics
activities that are relevant to everyday
life. Whether they’re discovering how a
car’s engine runs, becoming math
whizzes, or learning about careers in
STEM fields, girls are moving forward into
the future. They can design websites
or new inventions, plan for space
exploration, visit geological sites, and
more.
