Rodger’s ‘The Acholi tribe in Uganda’ is an
exceptional series of four photographs displaying
the traditional Bwola dance. One of the four
has an explanatory caption on the back of
the photograph: ‘In the dance it symbolises a
continuous, unchanging element in the lives of the
people - their ancient traditions and tribal lore’.
