Angola Albums.<br />

[c.1905]. 4to. Early twentieth century black morocco, rebacked and<br />

recornered, scuffed and rubbed. One hundred and fifty two gelatin<br />

silver prints and carbon prints ranging in size from 110 by 155mm.<br />

through to 180 by 250mm. Titles in manuscript.<br />

Two albums. The Banguella railway and the various<br />

locations along its route are captured in the first<br />

album. Notable images of the natives of Kimamba<br />

and Kutata and scenic sections of the rail route.<br />

The second album covers the River Kuanja area<br />

with topographical scenes and a number of<br />

portrait studies.<br />

Both albums together form an interesting and rare<br />

early survey study of Angola.<br />
