Objectives<br />

To provide customer service and dissemination of financial and other relevant information<br />

to <strong>Council</strong>’s management, staff, statutory bodies and the community in general<br />

Areas of Responsibility<br />

Administrative Support Services<br />

• Co-ordination of the Customer Service Centres in Warracknabeal and Rupanyup<br />

(<strong>Council</strong> operated) and Hopetoun (Agency operated)<br />

• Production and maintenance of the Community Directory for the Shire.<br />

• Co-ordination of municipal functions and the hire of meeting rooms.<br />

• Provision of administration support for the management team at the Warracknabeal<br />

office.<br />

• Management of a Vic Roads agency at the Warracknabeal office.<br />

Financial Services<br />

• Organisational wide financial support - general ledger, accounts payable, payroll,<br />

rates, accounts receivable, banking, investment, external audit, internal audit.<br />

• Financial Planning and Control – budget preparation, monitoring and reporting, 5<br />

year operational and capital works programs<br />

• Financial Reporting Requirements – regular reports to management and to <strong>Council</strong>,<br />

annual statement and annual report, Grants Commission, Goods and Services Tax<br />

and Fringe Benefits Tax, periodic reports to other associated bodies.<br />

• Rates and Property - Maintenance of <strong>Council</strong>’s property, valuation and rating<br />

database including MapInfo and the GIS system for <strong>Council</strong><br />

• Other responsibilities – review of fees and charges, internal control, purchasing.<br />

Information Technology Services<br />

• Provide a platform for the development of an efficient and accurate data entry and<br />

information dissemination management information system which benefits both<br />

internal and external clients.<br />

• The development and updating of <strong>Council</strong>’s website is also an important element of<br />

service.<br />

Review and update <strong>Council</strong> Investment Policy<br />

Review and update <strong>Council</strong> Credit Card Policy<br />

Rates & Property<br />

The Exceptional Circumstances status was extended to include 2009/<strong>2010</strong> year.<br />

Completion of <strong>2010</strong> property valuation<br />

Information Technology<br />

Updated and implemented new council website<br />

Implementation of four new servers<br />

Appointment of a new Information Technology contractor<br />

Updated and replaced computer cabling in the Warracknabeal office<br />

Implementation of 2007 Microsoft Office.<br />

Administration<br />

Update and print <strong>2010</strong> Business Directory<br />
