Primary School Weekly Bulletin Friday 1 st April – Volume 2 Issue 23
Special visitor in Year 5
On Thursday 24th March Year
5 had a special visitor join
them for the afternoon. Joyce
Mason came in to talk about
her experiences of World war
2 and how she escaped from
Belgium when it was being
invaded.
Aaron Rodriguez Deb a pupil
from Y5 led a presentation
about Joyce´s escape and
interviewed her. The children
then asked Joyce their own
questions.
All in all it was a very
interesting afternoon where
we all learnt something from
Joyce´s life.
Yana Rovner in Year 6 took
part in the Rhythmic
Gymnastics Championship last
week for the province of
Malaga which was celebrated
in Ronda.
Yana won first place in the
championship for the
Children’s IN category as well
as second place in the
promising children’s category
for an individual exercise with
a hoop.
Well done Yana. That is a
fantastic achievement!
3H computers in the
classroom
Mrs Hurst´s Literacy group have
had a marvellous week using
laptops in class to write plays.
They wrote alternative versions of
Red Riding hood. Daniel in 3F said
“It is good because we can delete
any mistakes and type our new
ideas”. Jorge in 3H said “We
loved using the laptops and we
have printed out our plays”. They
then exchanged play scripts and
acted out the plays. Great fun!
Children’s International
Book Day
In next week´s newsletter
there will be an article about
International Children´s Book
Day which we are celebrating
today in school!
Jack and the Beanstalk
There will also be an article
from Key Stage 1 about their
outstanding performance of
Jack and the Beanstalk which
they presented yesterday
afternoon. It was the very
best infant production I have
ever seen. Well done to all the
children in Years 1 and 2 and
Mrs Briggs and her Key Stage
1 teaching team!!
