Nugget 120 Series Valves
The Nugget 120 Valve – Ideally suited for applications
designed around low cost PC's coupled with small
electro-pneumatic interface modules. Ideal for the limited
space available in today's control cabinets.
Two Year Unconditional Warranty
All Nugget 120 valves are warranted to be free from defects
for a full two years from the date of purchase. This extended
warranty period provides users with a valuable guarantee of
quality and service.
Compact Dimensions
Subbase valves are .75" (19 mm) wideand 5.51" (140 mm)
long in a single solenoid pilot configuration.
Thin Lip Seal Spool
Norgren Nugget 120 valves feature a lightweight, one-piece
aluminum spool and nitrile seal assembly. Shifting forces are
minimized to 29 psig (2.0 bar) for single solenoid by the low
inertial spool made from high strength anodized aluminum.
The one piece spool and seal assembly is easily serviced,
resulting in cost savings during maintenance. Durable low
friction lip seals are designed to operate with lubricated or
non-lubricated air, and can be used for multi-pressure
applications.
Top Ported Subbase Valves
Nugget 120 subbase mounted valves come standard with
1/4" cylinder top ports. The ports are shipped plugged with
attractive plastic acorn nut style pipe plugs. These ports may
be employed to provide a number of customer benefits. The
subbase valve top ports may be plumbed with pressure
indicators to show the position of the spool. These full flow
ports may also be used as a plumbing convenience when
two pieces of equipment are actuated simultaneously. Finally,
top porting offers the user a third porting orientation when
combined with side or bottom ported subbases.
Fixed Length Manifold
The Nugget 120 subbase valve can be mounted on a fixed
length manifold with the use of an optional seal. This feature
allows the user to mount one valve on either the standard
modular subbase or the economical fixed length manifold.
Retained Subbase Mounting Screws
All Nugget 120 subbase valves are assembled with the two
socket head cap mounting screws retained in the valve body.
This feature prevents loss of the mounting screws during
assembly or maintenance.
Collected Pilot Exhaust on Subbase Valves
Exhaust from each solenoid pilot operator mounted to a
modular subbase manifold is routed to a single exhaust port
on the manifold end plate. This makes routing of exhaust air
very easy when potential contamination of the product is an
issue.
Pre-lubricated for Life
During assembly, every Nugget 120 spool is prelubed
for the life* of the valve. This allows nonlubricated
air service.
*(Approximately 20 million cycles of lubricated air
service. Non-lubricated air will reduce the number
of cycles.)
High-flow Design
Improvements to body and base design combine to
substantially increase flow. Base galleries linked to
the aluminum die cast body combine with deep
cavities to provide flow levels comparable to much
larger 1/4" NPT size valves. 5/2 valves have a Cv of
1.17, and 5/3 valves have a Cv of 0.79.
Port and Operator Identification
Each of the ports is identified by a permanent
number adjacent to the port on the body or subbase.
In addition, a two-digit number at each end of the
valve body indicates the ports connected when the
operator is actuated. Port and operator identification
on all Nugget 120 valves comply with ANSI/(NFPA)
T3.21.15-1989.
Quality Appearance
Norgren's matte black color gives any control circuit
installation a quality appearance, reflecting the
superior operating capability built into every Nugget
120 Valve.
Operator Options
Solenoid pilot and air pilot operators are available for
primary actuation and secondary return operation.
Spring return operators are also available for return
operation.
Rotatable Connector and Coil
The cable grip connector can be rotated in 90°
increments, and the solenoid pilot coil can be turned
in increments of 180°, making the operators
adaptable for easy installation.
Electrical Connector Options
Options include a 10-foot, three-conductor, molded
cable with or without LED and surge protection.
Valve Accessories
Pressure Indicators can be plumbed into the
subbase valves' top ports to show the relative
position of the spool. This feature decreases down
time by increasing diagnostic capability.
Blanking plates are available for covering unused
stations on subbase manifolds, making manifold
expansion easy.
Intermediate Supply/Exhaust Plates are used to
introduce additional pressures to, or control exhaust
from, manifolds simplifying plumbing in complex
pneumatic circuits.
