The paintings shown here were created in a studio with either southern exposure or
northern exposure. I find southern light to be warm and intoxicating, seductive yet
elusive and fleeting. This intense light embodies two distinct and opposing worlds,
one of light and another of darkness. Northern light on the other hand is diffused
and reflective. It is gentle, calm, quiet and cool. Yet, at the same time, it is expansive
and revealing. It is an intimate light that I can breathe deeply into my soul.
I like to believe that collectors use my paintings as a starting point to ponder.
