Acofer and Disider
The financial crisis and the downturn
of consumer consumption which
characterised the second half of the
year affected the consumption of long
products (ca. 13%). The principal reasons
for this reduction are the weakness in
construction, the lack
of new infrastructural investment
projects, both public and private, and
the lack of financial resources.
Despite this, the selling in July
witnessed an increase in comparison
with the previous year, thanks to the
extension of the distribution activity
and the enlargement of selection in the
products.
The decrease of 2% registered in
30/09/2012 occurred in the last three
months of the year. Therefore, the average
selling prices remain stable. As far as
beams are concerned, the average selling
price registered a variation between +1%
and 4% compared to the initial value.
With regard to merchant bars, the average
selling price registered a variation between
+4% and 0% compared to the initial value.
The first months confirm the weakness
of the national market with significant
decreases in the volumes and in the
selling prices. Signs of recovery are
forecast, starting from mid-April 2013,
which should improve the operating
margin.
The decision of the Duferdofin-Nucor
distribution system to further expand
the selection of its products, by adding
tubulars to the portfolio indicates the
resolve to satisfy as many minor customer
requests as possible.
At present, Disider warehouse in Avezzano
and Acofer in Giammoro are already
operative.
During the next months, Acofer
Warehouse in Brescia as well will have this
product as part of its selection.
Duferdofin-Nucor distribution division
intends to develop its leader position in
the long products distribution market in
Italy till 20/12/2013, with adequate territory
coverage, a wide selection of products
and high-level services.
