Mini Hydro Power Plants - The
last fiscal year has seen the start-up
of a new run-of-the-river hydro power
plant named Debbia along the River
Secchia in Emilia Romagna (North Italy)
which is expected to produce over 5
GWh/y, starting from a water flow
of 21 m³/s. It exploits a head around
8 m and has been realised in the
outstanding time of seven months in spite
of very tough and restrictive environmental
constraints.
The plant is equipped with 2 differentsized
Kaplan turbines and with a satellite
control system, allowing it to be managed
by means of remote control.
The new tunnel, bypassing the old one
in the Cosoleto plant was completed,
including the interconnecting works.
Mini Hydro Power Plant Debbia
In addition to the prototype shown in the
overview, Duferco Engineering is installing
on the roof of its headquarters in Genoa
a small size photovoltaic system in order
to simulate different operating conditions
and establish a procedure to maintain high
efficiency in the FV plants managed by
Duferco Engineering as the O&M operator.

Photovoltaic plants - Up to
September 2012, Duferco Engineering
managed photovoltaic plants with a total
power capacity of 11.5 MW. The PV plants
are monitored through a remote control
system in real time. An expert team, fully
dedicated to control any deviations of the
key parameters, is always in a state of
readiness to organise prompt intervention
in case of any problem.
Micro merchant line - Technical
and operational support is being granted
to two projects: the medium voltage
cross-border line between Ventimiglia
and Menton (in JV with ENEL and
ERDF) and the medium voltage crossborder
line between Premadio-Livigno
and Switzerland (in JV with ENEL and
Repower).
Power Plants - An EPC offer of a
2x50 MW GT open cycle power plant was
submitted to the Basra Governorate (Iraq).
For this purpose a local branch of Duferco
Engineering was established.
Mini Hydro Power plants -
Duferco Engineering is managing mini
hydro power plants with a total installed
capacity of 4.25 MW. The production units
are located both in northern and southern
Italy and include reconditioned old ENEL
plants, recent and new installations, high
and medium head. The average size of
the plants is around 1.0 MW. All the plants
are located on minor rivers with high flow
variations throughout the year. Thus,
production targets are achieved by means
of accurate and punctual supervision.
The production units are monitored daily
by remote control to ensure that they act
promptly in case of any technical problem
or in the event of a flood.
