Annual Fort Phoenix Road Race coming up fast<br />

The 22th annual Fort Phoenix 5K<br />

Road Race/Walk will be held on<br />

Sunday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m., rain or<br />

shine. Start/finish is at Fort Phoenix<br />

State Beach in <strong>Fairhaven</strong>.<br />

Non-competitive walk to take place<br />

concurrently with the run. All<br />

proceeds from the walk will benefit<br />

Cameron’s Kids, a non-profit<br />

charitable corporation, which is tax<br />

exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the<br />

Internal Revenue Code.<br />

Proceeds from the run benefit<br />

various charities/causes within our<br />

community. List is available upon<br />

request.<br />

The end of summer means it is<br />

time again for the Our Lady of Angels<br />

Feast! We are once again in need of<br />

volunteers. At the Malassadas and<br />

Clam Cake and French Fry Booth we<br />

are looking to have some fun and<br />

raise some finances for the many<br />

charities that the Feast assists within<br />

the community.<br />

The Feast begins on Saturday<br />

September third at 5pm and goes till<br />

The course is a fast wheelmeasured<br />

course through South<br />

<strong>Fairhaven</strong>. Professional Race Timing<br />

by JB Race Management.<br />

Amenities: T-shirts to the first 150<br />

entrants; food and drink to all<br />

participants.<br />

Entry Fee is $15 (prior to race day);<br />

Post-Entry is $20 (Day of Race)<br />

Race Day Special: Bring five road<br />

race shirts in good condition for<br />

donation and race entry is $15<br />

Entry-fees are non-refundable.<br />

OLOA food booths need volunteers<br />

10 p.m. on Monday, 9/5. The<br />

Procession is at 1 p.m. on Monday.<br />

Your volunteer hours are so<br />

important. It goes to St. Mary's<br />

Church and several local charities,<br />

including the local food pantries<br />

and Market Ministries.<br />

If you can spare an hour or two or<br />

more, it will be greatly appreciated.<br />

You will get fed and have plenty of<br />

fluids. All my family will be helping<br />
