Not accessible Young Matthew was just 7.5 months old when he fought and survived a brain tumor. At four years old, he is again battling cancer. For further information please call the Humane Society at 508-995-6661. Battleship Cove Special overnight for 911 Family Overnights on board the USS Massachusetts are always special. Just ask any of the campers who have found a stay on this World War II battleship to be a living history lesson they’ll never forget. But the September 10th Family Overnight will be more than special for the participating groups. They will be able to attend the September 11th Memorial Service on Sunday, September 11th, the tenth anniversary of the nation’s most deadly attack. Local public safety officials and apparatus will be on hand, and a steel beam salvaged from one of the Twin Towers will be on display. Battleship Cove is the home of the state’s official memorial for the Massachusetts victims of the terrorist attack. Thursday, August 25, 2011 Family Overnights are an opportunity to relive a typical day and night aboard the battleship Massachusetts and take part in shipboard activities. Meals are served chow-line style, guests sleep in restored Navy bunks, and the sound of reveille announces that it’s time to rise and shine. Everyone enjoys all-day admission and gets to take home a free Overnight Survival Guide filled with fun facts and shipboard activities. Battleship Cove is a nonprofit maritime heritage museum, comprising five National Historic Landmarks and the world’s largest and most diverse collection of historic Naval ships. Parking and entrance to the playhouse is in the rear of the church/hall complex entrance on County St. Director Dr. Juli Parker must fill the following five roles: Li’l Bit: Female 30s to 40s, Uncle Peck: 30s to 50s, Female Greek Chorus: Female 30s to 60s (plays multiple roles), Male Greek Chorus: Male, 30s to 60s (plays multiple roles) and Teenage Greek Chorus: Female 20s (plays multiple roles). The production will rehearse throughout September-October and will run Nov. 10-20. The audition will consist of cold reading from the script. Because of the adult nature of the play (sexual situations and some language), no one under 18 will be allowed to audition.
