First was the Highway Signs when Ridge Avenue, Gale Avenue, and the "S" Curve on the Upper Table was a main road going through Galesville before the new highway was put in that bypassed the town. And it was fun to see the Moran Rexall Drugs sign. Just behind that, in the circle is the Municipal Liquor Store sign. I was having trouble putting things in perspective, so I called Jim Quinn wondering what happened to the Post Office. "It's there. Right next to the drug store". That's what I thought but I couldn't see a sign, I am guessing that's why the flag poles are out front. "The Municipal Liquor Store was where Mary Mensing had her beauty shop. Fevers in Children Q. What is the normal temperature for children A. Children's body temperatures vary normally throughout the day and from child to child - a range instead of an exact number, from 98.2 to 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit measured rectally. Q. So what constitutes a fever A. For a child of any age, fever is defined as a temperature greater than 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Q. When do I need to call my healthcare provider A. Call your healthcare provider if your child: - Has a temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Cent grade) or higher - Has taken acetaminophen for three days and the fever persists with other signs of illness - Is younger than two months old and has a temperature at any time higher than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit - Is between two and three months of age and has a temperature higher than 101 degrees Fahrenheit and shows any of the signs of illness listed in the next question. Q. If I don't need to call my healthcare provider, what do I do A. Continue to monitor your child for signs of illness such as loss of ap petite, vomiting or abdominal pain, extreme irritability, unusual sleepi ness, severe headache, persistent crying, sore throat or inability to swallow, mental confusion, ear pain, difficulty breathing, and pain with urination. Also: - Keep the child at rest or in a quiet activity. - Provide plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. - Frozen ice pops may be popular with your child. - Have your child wear loose, lightweight clothing and offer a blanket when needed for warmth. - Give infants a sponge bath in lukewarm - not cold - water. - Give your child acetaminophen.
