Chris Rea signs a plaque to mark
the opening of the new building
On the 9th of October 2002, Group
Managing Director, Chris Rea O.B.E.
was pleased to attend a ‘ribbon
cutting ceremony’ to mark the
opening of new premises for
AESSEAL China Ltd.
The new state of the art facilities will be the
base for aggressive expansion into the Chinese
mechanical seal market.
The 4000 square metre building will house 45
employees who will work in all aspects of the
business from manufacturing and assembly to
administration and sales.
During Chris Rea’s opening speech he
addressed a large gathering of around 200
Chinese dignitaries, employees and customers.
Chris commented on the “Energy, enthusiasm
and commitment” of the Chinese team and
stated that AESSEAL China would play a very
important role in the future growth of the group
as a whole.
Chris continued “Our joint ventures in China are
little more than 12 months old. In that short time
we have seen major developments and
investment. Our vision for China is to pursue
excellence and to build the biggest and best
mechanical seal company in China.”
The site is now fully equipped for the
manufacture of Tungsten Carbide, a highly
technical process which is used in the faces of
mechanical seals.
The new building is located on the Hi-tech
Industrial Park, Yinzhou Central, Nigbo in China.
It is a new area developed by the Government..
Building started here in October 2001 and
construction was completely finished by the
end of August 2002. Arrangements were made
to move in on the first of September this year
before the opening ceremony on the 9th of
October.
