Chris Rea Receives O.B.E. at
Buckingham Palace
Following the announcement that
AESSEAL’s Managing Director, Chris
Rea, was being awarded the O.B.E.
(Officer of the Order of the British
Empire) in the Queen’s New Years
Honours list, he was invited to
Buckingham Palace to receive the
award.

AESSEAL ® Focuses on Refineries
at Sigma Exhibition
Arla Foods are the biggest dairy in
Europe, employing over 20,000
people globally and with an annual
purchasing spend of over £1 billion.
Although trading in over 100
countries prime production facilities
are in Denmark (38 sites), Sweden (29
sites) and the UK (6 sites).
Headquartered in Viby Denmark, Arla Foods
took the strategic decision during 2001 to
introduce a Global Purchasing policy. This
included implementing a new organisational
structure for MRO (Maintenance, Repair and
Operating Supplies) with two major goals. The
first was to consolidate spend and reduce total
costs and the second to secure consistent
service and build long term relationships with
preferred suppliers.
The selection process officially started in
January of 2002, and was concluded in early
AMEC, set up to support Shell
Expro's business in the North Sea.
Suppliers were invited to showcase their latest
and most innovative products that could be
used by Sigma 3 in their objective to deliver
improved production, enhanced safety or
reduced cost.

Lee Gooch of AESSEAL ® attended the
exhibition in Aberdeen earlier this year to
promote AES products that fit some or all of the
required objectives.
AESSEAL ® Wins ARLA Foods Contract
October 2002 after a number of rounds of
proposals and presentations, with AESSEAL ®
successfully being selected as the single 'key
supplier of mechanical seals'.
The reasons that AESSEAL ® was selected
according to Arla Foods Global Purchasing
Manager, Jakob Klinggaard, was competitive
pricing and commitment to providing the
service and product at end user level to help
maximise product performance. Another major
factor was the ability to service Arla Foods in
different countries, especially Denmark
(AESSEAL Danmark), Sweden (AxFlow) and the
UK (AESSEAL plc).
When asked about thoughts on clinching such a
strategically important deal, Horst Yarrow,
AESSEAL ® Export Manager commented "As
with all Key Supplier Agreements it is not
getting the initial deal, but extending it after the
initial term as a consequence of meeting or
exceeding our customer’s expectations that
truly demonstrates our success".
