• y Confidently discuss the negative impact <strong>of</strong> tobacco use/<br />
exposure on health and quality <strong>of</strong> life<br />
• y Apply evidence-based techniques to perform a brief tobacco<br />
cessation/avoidance assessment and intervention as a<br />
routine practice at the point-<strong>of</strong>-care (“Best Practices” as the<br />
Standard <strong>of</strong> Care - “vital sign”)<br />
• y Describe relevant resources available to assist patients,<br />
clients, family, or friends to abstain from tobacco use and/or<br />
avoid second- and thirdhand smoke exposure<br />

This class is designed for those who may be already using<br />
the ASAM PPC-2R, but have never taken a formal class<br />
on the subject. Levels <strong>of</strong> care and the six dimensions<br />
will be explored specific to the use with adolescents.<br />
Application, documentation, and treatment planning will<br />
also be addressed. This will be a hands-on workshop, so<br />
bring your cases and questions!<br />
