At this point, <strong>Nessus</strong> will continue by loading a page in your default web browser that will<br />
h<strong>and</strong>le the initial configuration, which is discussed in the section “Feed Registration <strong>and</strong> GUI<br />
<strong>Configuration</strong>”.<br />
STARTING AND STOPPING THE NESSUS SERVICE<br />
After the installation, the nessusd service will start. During each reboot, the service will<br />
automatically start. If there is a reason to start or stop the service, it can be done via a<br />
Terminal window (comm<strong>and</strong> line). The comm<strong>and</strong> must be run as “root”, or via sudo:<br />
Action Comm<strong>and</strong> to Manage nessusd<br />
Start<br />
Stop<br />
# launchctl load -w<br />
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.tenablesecurity.nessusd.plist<br />
# launchctl unload -w<br />
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.tenablesecurity.nessusd.plist<br />
REMOVING NESSUS<br />
To remove <strong>Nessus</strong>, delete the following directories:<br />
/Library/<strong>Nessus</strong><br />
/Applications/<strong>Nessus</strong><br />
/Library/Receipts/<strong>Nessus</strong>*<br />
