2. Move after clearance from the advance group<br />
3. Establish linkage with the advance group immediately on arrival<br />
4. Occupy bases selected by the advance group<br />
5. Establish contact with other Government <strong>and</strong> NGOs in the area of operation<br />
6. Coordinate operation <strong>and</strong> report to focal point <strong>and</strong> team leader<br />
7. Suggest additional assistance in terms of men, material <strong>and</strong> resources required<br />
8. Constant monitoring <strong>and</strong> coordination of operations<br />
9. Facilitate joint UN assessment <strong>and</strong> <strong>UNDP</strong> to contribute in livelihood, environment,<br />
habitat assessment<br />
10. Donor proposal: Immediately on receipt of assessment from the advance group the<br />
project proposal will be submitted to <strong>UNDP</strong><br />
Equipment:<br />
• Satellite phone (1);<br />
• Mobile h<strong>and</strong>set (7);<br />
• VHF set (3);<br />
• Walkie talkie (7),<br />
• Global Positioning System (1);<br />
• Laptop with accessories (1);<br />
• Life jackets (7);<br />
• Helmet with torch light (7);<br />
• Nylon single man tent (7);<br />
• Emergency torch (7);<br />
• First aid box (3);<br />
• Clothing rations <strong>and</strong> logistics backup for the entire duration;<br />
• V-satellite (1);<br />
• Inflatable boats (optional- 03)<br />
Mode of travel: Preferably by air in order to be effective in shortest possible time.<br />
Additional groups: Depending on the assessment carried out by the advance group <strong>and</strong><br />
availability of uncommitted manpower with <strong>UNDP</strong> hubs, additional teams can be<br />
mobilized locally with composition <strong>and</strong> task as above.<br />
Capacity Building of <strong>Response</strong> Teams through Information Sharing, Training & Mock<br />
Drills<br />
Following important parameters must be strictly adhered to for ensuring a organized,<br />
effective <strong>and</strong> functional disaster management taskforce to face any eventuality at any time:<br />
- Maximum personnel of all groups must visit all identified disaster sites<br />
• Training in the respective task under respective team leaders<br />
• Procurement of all equipment <strong>and</strong> resources <strong>and</strong> maintaining them in working<br />
conditions at all times.<br />
• Training of specialists in their respective specialization<br />
