Equipment and Supplies:
The following items will be mandatory for completion of the course:
Full black scrubs
Black soft sole closed toe shoes
$40.00 Study Guide Fee for Nail 1&2
Each student will be assigned an in school tool kit, which they will be responsible for. These kits are
to remain in school at all times.
Students are encouraged to purchase their own personal kit to use at home. These kits will be sold at
a student price and will cost approximately $200.00.
Please note that student kits will include just the basic supplies.
Students will also need the following items:
2 three ring binders
Pencil crayons, makers, and scissors for projects
Assessment:
Nail Technology is divided into two parts. In each part students must receive a final mark of a
minimum of 70% in both the theory and practical work in order to be eligible for the apprenticeship
program.
Term marks will be graded on assignments, individual and group projects, chapter tests, practical
applications, attendance, and professionalism. A written and practical exam will be given at the end of
each semester. A total of 400 hours is required over both parts of the Nail Technology course. Any
hours missed per term must be made up before the end of the semester.
Students are expected to submit their assignments on or before the due dates. Late assignments will
require documentation or students must make prior arrangements with the teacher.
