<strong>Science</strong> Unit 2 <strong>and</strong> Unit 3 <strong>Science</strong> exams<br />
You may be aware that your child will be sitting their <strong>Science</strong> Unit 2 <strong>and</strong> Unit 3<br />
<strong>Science</strong> exams over the next couple of weeks.<br />
This letter does not apply to those students who are taking the BTEC <strong>Science</strong> as<br />
assessment for that course is 100% coursework based.<br />
We thought you might find it useful to remind you of the dates for these exams, to<br />
let you know exactly what is in each paper <strong>and</strong> also give an outline of how students<br />
can revise leading up to the exam.<br />

General <strong>Science</strong> revision will continue to run every Thursday 3-4pm.<br />
Your child should have purchased the CGP ADDITIONAL SCIENCE REVISION GUIDES<br />
from our <strong>Science</strong> Technicians along with downloading past papers along with mark<br />
schemes from the AQA website;<br />

REVISION TECHNIQUE THAT YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR CHILD WITH:<br />

STEP 1 – With your child, design a revision timetable. It is recommended that<br />
1 hour per night is spent revising for the upcoming exam.<br />
STEP 2 - Use CGP Revision Guide to revise topics in B2, C2 <strong>and</strong> P2.<br />

STEP 3 - Make notes based on content in revision guide.<br />
STEP 4 - Design Revision posters based on certain topics.<br />
STEP 5 - Memorise learning.<br />
STEP 6 - Complete past papers (use link above) <strong>and</strong> then self-mark papers<br />
using the mark scheme which can also be downloaded (use link above).<br />
STEP 7 - Results from practice papers can be used to show areas of weakness;<br />
these areas need to be revisited for revision.<br />
Step 8 – Keep repeating steps 1-7 until your child is confident for the exam.<br />
Step 9 – Ensure your child attends the after school revision session on the<br />
dates above (see table).<br />
