10. B. ROBERT BURDO CULINARY ARTS CENTER PROJECT, CONSTRUCTION<br />
MANAGEMENT SERVICES, REQUEST FOR EXTENDED SERVICES<br />
M/S/C (Call/Edgar) the <strong>Board</strong> of Trustees reviewed and approved the extension of the B.<br />
Robert Burdo Culinary Arts Center Project, Construction Management Services contract, in the<br />
amount of $35,574.00, for a revised contract price of $1,972,574.00.<br />

11. HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PROGRAM (HEP) GRANT<br />
Catherine Wilson, Manager, Career Center and Interim Manager, Assessment Services, made<br />
a presentation on the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) federal grant awarded to SRJC<br />
from the Office of Migrant Education-US Department of Education. The award of $2,079,024 is<br />
for a five year period commencing July 1, 2012 for the purpose of providing migrant and<br />
seasonal farmworkers and their families an opportunity to complete their education. Catherine<br />
noted that enrollees in the program will benefit from tutoring, career advising, counseling, GED<br />
testing, stipends for books, materials and scholarships, and be exposed to CTE programs,<br />
transfer programs and opportunities to improve employment.<br />
Ricardo Navarrette commended Catherine Wilson on her success in attaining grant funding on<br />
a very highly ranked proposal.
