Report. C. RATIFICATION OF CONTRACTS Ratified contracts for the period June 18, 2012 – July 22, 2012. D. RESOLUTION #11-12, CHANGES TO ADOPTED BUDGET Approved Resolution #11-12 increasing/ the revenue and expenditures for the following funds: Restricted CalWORKs $30,000.00 Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) $884.00 E. GRANTS Approved approve the submission of new grant applications and renewals/amendments of existing grants as presented, and authorized expenditure of funds upon their award and receipt. New Resolution #12-12, Facilities Renovation and Repair, submitted by Joel Gordon, in the amount of $18,960.00, from the California State Department of Education, with no district match required. This grant supports efforts to maintain a healthy, safe and accessible environment for children in subsidized child care and child development programs. (Award notification received) Career Technical Education (CTE) Entrepreneurship and Health Information Technology, submitted by Lorraine Wilson and Debra Sands-Miller, in the amount of $141,916.00, from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, with a 10% in-kind district match in the form of salaries, benefits and facilities. This grant will support research and curriculum development for Entrepreneurship certificate program which will replace the Small Business Management certificate. (Pending award notification) Gateway to College, submitted by Jane Saldana-Talley, in the amount of $325,000.00, from the Gateway to College National Network, with no district match required. This is a dual credit program that serves youth who are unlikely to graduate high school, allowing them to earn a high school diploma while progressing toward a college degree or certificate. (Pending award notification) State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) Area 4 Board Cycle 35 Program Development, submitted by Lindsay Eigenauer and Laura Aspinall, in the amount of $15,000.00, from the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities, with no district match required. This grant will provide funding to expand the Vocational Skills Coach job coaching portion of the College to Career program already in existence. (Pending award notification) Renewal Resolution #13-12, California State Preschool Program, submitted by Joel Gordon, in the amount of $174,942.00, from the California State Department of Education, with no district match required. This grant provides a practicum experience for child development students and students from other disciplines, allows parents to attend classes and work while enrolled, and promotes the healthy growth and development of young children. (Award notification received)
Resolution #14-12, General Child Care and Development Program, submitted by Joel Gordon, in the amount of $209,966.00, from the California State Department of Education, with no district match required. This grant provides a practicum experience for child development students and students from other disciplines, allows parents to attend classes and work while enrolled, and promotes the healthy growth and development of young children. (Award notification received) CARES Plus, submitted by Joel Gordon, in the amount of $26,708.00, from the Childcare Planning Council, with no district match required. This grant will provide support services to CARES Plus participants via the Child Development, Counseling and Tutorial departments. (Award notification received) Mental Health Services Act – Prevention and Early Intervention (MHSA-PEI), submitted by Susan Quinn, in the amount of $90,000.00, from the County of Sonoma, with no district match required. This grant will provide preventative mental health services within the district. (Pending award notification) –Trustee Call commended all staff involved in seeking and getting these grants, and complimented Joel Gordon on continuously successfully pursuing grants. F. QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT Approved the submission of the Quarterly Financial Status Report to the Chancellor’s Office for the period ending June 30, 2012. G. DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS Authorized the Purchasing Director to destroy the records as indicated on the list included with agenda. H. DECLARATION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY Approved the declaration of surplus property. I. BURBANK AUDITORIUM AND ROBERT CALL CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER CHILLER REPLACEMENTS PROJECT, PERMISSION TO GO TO BID WITH ADVANCE AWARD OF BID Authorized the administration to go to bid for the Burbank Auditorium and Robert Call Child Development Center Chiller Replacements Project, and award the bid contingent upon the amount being within budget. J. B. ROBERT BURDO CULINARY ARTS CENTER PROJECT, MULTI-PRIME DIVISION, #2, BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND SITE WORK, CHANGE ORDERS #23 Approved Change Order #23 in the amount of $82,500.00 for the B. Robert Burdo Culinary Arts Center Project, Multi-Prime Division #2, Building Construction and Site Work, for a revised contract amount of $8,490,230.00. K. B. ROBERT BURDO CULINARY ARTS CENTER PROJECT, MULTI-PRIME DIVISION, #2, BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND SITE WORK, NOTICE OF COMPLETION Accepted as complete the work for B. Robert Burdo Culinary Arts Center Project, Multi- Prime Division #2, Building Construction and Site Work, and directed staff to record a Notice of Completion with the County of Sonoma. L. B.
