GENERAL EMERGENCY<br />

DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY DIRECTOR<br />

Acknowledge emergency information.<br />

Fill out the appropriate notification form, if FAX is not received.<br />

Verify emergency information with BVPS.<br />

Brief operations staff on status <strong>of</strong> emergency.<br />

Check status <strong>of</strong> County roads relative to emergency services and make public<br />

notification <strong>of</strong> unusual conditions.<br />

Review with staff any problems that would impede the progress <strong>of</strong> a protective<br />

action.<br />

Ensure communications are established at all field locations.<br />

Direct PIO to make public notification <strong>of</strong> any unusual conditions affecting Hancock<br />

County evacuation.<br />

Coordinate with School Services and Health/Medical Officers to assure that the<br />

plans for special population groups are in progress or complete.<br />

Confer with PIO on the EAS message.<br />

Upon protective action decision, notify EAS station for activation <strong>of</strong> system.<br />

____ Activate the CityWatch Alert System (See Annex P, Appendice 3).<br />

Ensure siren activation within 15 minutes <strong>of</strong> protective action recommendation.<br />

Check status <strong>of</strong> emergency actions initiated for the protective action in progress or<br />

complete.<br />

Assure special facilities evacuation/sheltering is complete.<br />

Assure all emergency actions are complete.<br />
