HANCOCK COUNTY EMERGENCY PLAN 4. Emergency Level - General Emergency a. Review the public alert/notification resource list. (Enclosure 1) b. Request local EAS stations to standby to Alert emergency message. (Enclosure 2). c. Activate the CityWatch Alert System (See Annex P, Appendice 3). d. Coordinate with the Fire Services Officer to assure Route Alerting Teams are in-place and prepared to activate upon request. e. Review EAS messages and update as necessary. (See SOP No. 2). f. Maintain readiness posture until protective response is indicated, emergency level reduction or closeout. g. Protective Response Indicated: (1) Select the appropriate EAS message based upon the protective action. (2) Receive from the State the coordinated recommendation on implementation of protective action including: (a) (b) (c) The specific protective action recommended. The area affected by implementation. The date and time of implementation. (3) Ensure that selected EAS messages are consistent with protective action being implemented. (3) Activate the CityWatch Alert System (See Annex P, Appendice 3). (4) Coordinate with the Fire Services Officer for the dispatch of Route Alerting Teams in conjunction with siren activation. (5) Activate the sirens within the designated protective response area upon the direction of the Emergency Management Director or his designee. (6) Coordinate with the County Sheriff for backup support to fire personnel in providing additional alert/notification coverage (if needed). (7) Verify coverage and completion of public alert/notification. R-1-87 Issue 9 Revision 0

(9) Repeat the appropriate steps of the above procedure upon receipt of an additional protective action decision. h. Maintain General Emergency Status until emergency level reduction or closeout.
