(If the diluted volume is more than 5ml, divide the volume into 2)<br />

Oral Administration<br />

Oral Quinine at 10mg per body weight every 8 hours to complete 7 days <strong>of</strong> treatment<br />

i.e. 600mg (2 tablets) every 8 hours, <strong>for</strong> 7 days.<br />

OR<br />

If there is no medical <strong>of</strong>ficer, She would be referred with a note detailing history and any<br />

treatment given. She should be accompanied if possible<br />

4. a. Counsel her on the need to go to the clinic <strong>for</strong> antenatal care so that she can be put on SP<br />

under IPT<br />

b. If she cannot take any sulpha drug, she should use ITNs strictly till her postnatal period ends.<br />

c. Discuss Birth Preparedness and Complication readiness plan with her.<br />

5. a. Ensure that she takes her treatment religiously.<br />

b. Ensure intake <strong>of</strong> a good diet.<br />

c. Ensure she gets enough rest.<br />

d. Ensure intake <strong>of</strong> fluids and juices.<br />
