iii. The Deans will make the decision as to what instruments may be used in the dorms. Amplifiers, drums,<br />

keyboards, etc., are not permitted in the dorms without headphone use.<br />

iv. Radios, televisions, clock radios, etc. are not permitted at the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>. They are to be sent home<br />

immediately.<br />

v. This music policy also applies to breaks while on the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> campus.<br />

vi. Abuse <strong>of</strong> this privilege may result in discipline points or even the loss <strong>of</strong> privilege.<br />

vii. All music played publicly at the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> must be screened and approved.<br />

2. MOVIES<br />

i. No movies <strong>of</strong> any kind (DVD, downloaded, streamed, burned, or otherwise) may be played in the dorm<br />

rooms at any time, nor may they be kept in the dorm room. No movies, movie trailers, or television<br />

shows (sitcoms, etc.) may be downloaded or watched from the Internet.<br />

ii.<br />

Movies may not be played on ANY <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> property, unless it is an <strong>of</strong>ficial activity or at a staff<br />

member’s house.<br />

iii. According to the Standard <strong>of</strong> Conduct, there is to be no attendance at a movie theater.<br />

iv. Video clips may be viewed in the dorms. Headphones must be used.<br />

3. TELEVISION<br />

There are to be no televisions in the dorm rooms at any time for any reason.<br />

4. VIDEO GAMES<br />

i. There are to be no video game consoles used in the dorm room (X-box, Playstation, etc.)<br />

ii.<br />

Computer installed video games cannot be played during prohibited times (Quiet Time, study hours, quiet in<br />

dorms, after ‘Lights Out’, etc). In addition to this, any PC-based games must be played with headphones or<br />

with the volume turned completely <strong>of</strong>f. As with all entertainment, any video games that violate principles <strong>of</strong><br />

Scripture and godliness are prohibited. The <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Life</strong> Department reserves the right to make the<br />

final decision on the acceptability <strong>of</strong> a video game.<br />

5. WEBCAMS<br />

Webcams are only permitted to be used with the permission <strong>of</strong> a Discipleship Coordinator.<br />

D. Relationships<br />

6. Marriages, Engagements, & Dating<br />

i. Marriage plans made prior to attendance at the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> should be communicated to the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Life</strong><br />

Department upon enrollment. Marriages are not allowed during the school year without prior permission<br />

from the Executive Dean.<br />

ii.<br />

The <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Life</strong> Department must be consulted prior to any engagement between two current students<br />

during the school year. Generally, Parental/guardian permission must be given prior to the engagement.<br />

iii. Divorced or separated students are not allowed to date while enrolled at the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />

7. Physical Contact<br />

i. Physical contact between persons <strong>of</strong> the opposite sex is not permitted on or <strong>of</strong>f campus.<br />

ii.<br />

Physical contact between members <strong>of</strong> the same sex must be within the bounds <strong>of</strong> biblically acceptable<br />

behavior.<br />

8. Sexual Conduct<br />

Any sexual misconduct may be grounds for dismissal based on the Standard <strong>of</strong> Conduct.<br />

9. Third-Party Standard<br />

i. Generally, two students <strong>of</strong> the opposite sex must have a third party with them at all times.<br />

ii. Couples in remote areas <strong>of</strong> the campus must have a third party.<br />

iii. The following is a list that includes, but is not limited to, on-campus areas that are <strong>of</strong>f-limits for two students<br />

<strong>of</strong> the opposite sex:<br />

a. All dormitories<br />

b. Behind or beside all dorms<br />

c. Dorm walkways and porches<br />

d. The base <strong>of</strong> the stairways leading to the dorm above the Dining Room (South America)<br />

e. The base <strong>of</strong> the stairway leading to the dorm above the Embers (North America)<br />

f. Darkened or unlit areas <strong>of</strong> campus (e.g. Council Hall, beach, etc.)<br />

g. Empty buildings or empty rooms including classrooms<br />

h. Vehicles without a third party (This includes on campus.)<br />

i. Ranch stables<br />

j. England Classroom<br />
