D. ROOM ASSIGNMENTS:<br />

1. From time to time, a student may be required to change rooms or dorms for disciplinary, academic,<br />

administrative or personality reasons.<br />

2. Requests for room changes may be done only through the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Life</strong> Department. If you desire to change your<br />

room assignment, please see your DC.<br />

E. QUIET-IN-DORMS/LIGHTS OUT:<br />

1. Please refer to the Daily Schedule for Quiet-in-Dorms and Lights-Out times.<br />

2. During Quiet-in-Dorms, only desk lamps are to be used. Talking in a loud voice or making unnecessary noise is<br />

not allowed out <strong>of</strong> consideration for others who may be sleeping. An atmosphere conducive for sleeping should<br />

be maintained.<br />

3. <strong>Student</strong>s must be in bed and quiet after Lights-Out. There is to be no studying, talking or cell phone use between<br />

Lights-Out and 5:30 A.M.<br />

4. Overseas students must notify your Dorm RA if you need to stay up later for a phone call.<br />

F. STUDY HOURS:<br />

1. Study hours are required for all on-campus students, except for those on the Dean’s Honor List (3.0 GPA). See<br />

the student weekly schedule for exact times. See Section Two <strong>of</strong> Academics for more details.<br />

2. Dorm rooms are to be quiet during the evening study hours with no talking or unnecessary noises. Study hours<br />

are for individual studying. Group studying must be left for breaks and free time. This is not the time to write<br />

letters, surf the internet, instant message, or play video games. <strong>Student</strong>s must be at their desks and studying<br />

notes or books from the start to end <strong>of</strong> study hours.<br />

3. <strong>Student</strong>s who do not have required study hours may not excessively enter or leave the dorm during study hours.<br />

4. In the case that a student who is on the Deans Honor List chooses to be in the dorm, that student may not<br />

participate in any activities deemed distracting to the other students during study hours.<br />

G. PETS:<br />

With the exception <strong>of</strong> fish tanks (in which only fish are permitted.), pets are not permitted while in residence at the<br />

<strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>. Fish tanks may not exceed 10 gallons.<br />

H. POSTERS & PICTURES:<br />

All posters and pictures in the dorm must be approved by the Dorm RA and cannot be excessive in number. Posters<br />

should not conflict with the spirit <strong>of</strong> <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong>. (Please see “Care <strong>of</strong> Building” letter B for specific instructions.) Tape<br />

and Sticky Tac are not allowed on painted surfaces.<br />

I. ROOM ENTRY:<br />

Authorized personnel <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> reserve the right to enter student rooms at any time for the purpose <strong>of</strong><br />

maintenance repair, inspection, health safety or the investigation <strong>of</strong> violations <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> regulations. Exercise<br />

<strong>of</strong> this right will be used with restraint.<br />

J. TELEPHONES/EMAIL:<br />

Use <strong>of</strong> the phone system at <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> is a privilege and not a right. Inappropriate use <strong>of</strong> the system by way <strong>of</strong><br />

pranks, practical jokes, lewdness, etc., may result in suspension <strong>of</strong> these privileges and/or other disciplinary action.<br />

1. Cell phones<br />

Cell phones are to be turned <strong>of</strong>f during class, and are not to be used once study hours have begun. Also, they<br />

are not permitted to be used after quiet in dorms Monday through Thursday and after lights out on the weekend.<br />

2. Cell Tower<br />

For legal, safety, and insurance purposes the cell tower site and its access road are <strong>of</strong>f limits to all WOL<br />

students. The cell tower is not the property <strong>of</strong> WOL and has a fence around it. Those trespassing on the site<br />

could face prosecution. Therefore, your cooperation is both appreciated and necessary<br />

4. Email<br />

i. <strong>Student</strong> email is used regularly and students are required to check their messages daily.<br />

ii. <strong>Student</strong>s are responsible for all information communicated via WOLBI email from staff & faculty.<br />
