the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> does believe that modesty is a matter <strong>of</strong> biblical principle, and that discipline in the area <strong>of</strong> acceptable<br />
dress is a necessary part <strong>of</strong> life preparation regardless <strong>of</strong> a student’s future plans. Our goal is to represent and reflect our<br />
Savior while pointing all to Him in every area.<br />

Men’s Dress Code<br />
As leaders on the campus, it is important that the male<br />
students set the pace by adhering to the detailed dress<br />
code below. The men should make a special effort to be<br />
modest in their dress and not wear clothes that draw<br />
attention to themselves. No short or excessively tight<br />
fitting clothes should be worn. This applies to dress in the<br />
weight room as well.<br />
• Please consult the Deans before you make any drastic<br />
changes in style as they reserve the right to ask<br />
students to make any necessary adjustments.<br />
• Haircuts should be traditional & conservative.<br />
• Hair is not to hang down over the eyes, ears or top <strong>of</strong><br />
the collar.<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s are not allowed to bleach or color their hair<br />
other than a natural color.<br />
• “Mohawks” are not permitted.<br />
• Sideburns should not be longer than the bottom <strong>of</strong> the<br />
earlobe.<br />
• Mustaches, if worn, must be neat and trimmed and must<br />
not extend below the corners <strong>of</strong> the mouth.<br />
• Beards are not permitted, as it is expected that men are<br />
to be clean-shaven.<br />
• Earrings, body-piercing, tongue rings and/or body<br />
modifications are not permitted at any time during<br />
enrollment at <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />
• Bracelets are allowed provided they are neat.<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s are not allowed to acquire tattoos at any time<br />
during their enrollment.<br />
• Appearance is to be neat, clean, & unwrinkled<br />

• Overall appearance is to be neat, clean, & unwrinkled.<br />
• Dress Shirts, when worn, must be tucked in and<br />
buttoned at all times.<br />
Proper attire<br />
• Dress pants, khakis, corduroys, or cargo pants .<br />
• Polo shirt with a collar, dress shirts (including denim<br />
shirts), sweater, turtleneck, sweatshirt (hoods must not<br />
be worn over the head while in class).<br />
• Dress or casual dress shoes.<br />
• Socks.<br />
Women’s Dress Code<br />
In presenting a feminine appearance, modesty is a key<br />
<strong>of</strong> vital importance. Women should not wear tight form<br />
fitting clothing <strong>of</strong> any kind, low necklines or “seethrough”<br />
tops at any time. Skirts should not be shorter<br />
than the middle <strong>of</strong> the knee (whether sitting, standing or<br />
walking). Slips are to be worn when wearing a skirt or<br />
dress. Slits in dresses or skirts must meet the middle <strong>of</strong><br />
the knee. Sleeveless tops should be modest. Shoulder<br />
straps should be at least 3 fingers in width.<br />
• Hairstyles should reflect a feminine appearance and<br />
should not be distracting.<br />
• Extreme styles and coloring (other than the realm <strong>of</strong><br />
natural colors) are not allowed.<br />
• Dreadlocks are not permitted<br />
• Body piercing, tongue rings, and/or body-modification<br />
are not allowed and jewelry resulting from body<br />
piercing should be removed.<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s are not allowed to acquire tattoos at any time<br />
during their enrollment.<br />
