A shuttle van is provided 2 days per week to facilitate transportation for the student. There is a fee for this service.<br />

An RN, EMT, or First Aid staff member will be in the health center during <strong>of</strong>fice hours listed below. <strong>Student</strong>s need to<br />

make appointments during <strong>of</strong>fice hours for nurse evaluation and consultation.<br />

A. HOURS OF OPERATION<br />

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm<br />

*Closed during all School Break<br />

B. AFTER HOUR OPERATION<br />

For urgent medical care (not life threatening), call campus emergency line at 1444.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s can receive care at the following locations: Transportation is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the student.<br />

C. TRANSPORTATION<br />

1. In an emergency situation, an ambulance will be called to transport the student<br />

2. As a service to students, in non-emergency situations the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> provides transportation to our local Health<br />

Centers in Schroon Lake, Chestertown, Warrensburg and Glens Falls for doctor’s appointments. This transportation<br />

is only available on Monday and Thursday afternoons and departs from the WOLBI Health Center at 1:45 PM. There<br />

is a fee for transportation given by <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong>, (Chestertown & Schroon Lake, Warrensburg, and Glens Falls $15.00<br />

and Albany $75.00).<br />

3. If non-urgent medical attention is needed at times other than those indicated above, transportation is the<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> the student.<br />

D. MISSING REQUIRED ACTIVITIES DUE TO ILLNESS<br />

When a student misses a class or required activity because <strong>of</strong> a health reason, the student is responsible to make an<br />

appointment with the health center by <strong>11</strong>am for evaluation. To make an appointment please call or come to the<br />

health center to do so (please do not leave a voicemail; you must physically speak to a health center staff member).<br />

If the student fails to make their appointment, they will not be excused. It is the student’s responsibility to walk or<br />

obtain transportation to the health center.<br />

E. MEDICATION<br />

1. Non Prescription Medications<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s can obtain non prescription medications at the campus Health Center free <strong>of</strong> charge. Tylenol,<br />

Ibupr<strong>of</strong>en, cough syrup, etc. until they can obtain their own supply. <strong>Student</strong>s are encouraged to keep a small<br />

supply <strong>of</strong> non prescription medications in their dorm room for when the Health Center is closed. You will need to<br />

purchase these items on your own. The Health Center does not sell any medications.<br />

2. Prescription medications:<br />

1. <strong>Student</strong> may keep prescription medications in their room, a lock box is highly recommended.<br />

2. There is absolutely no sharing <strong>of</strong> prescription medications with other students.<br />

3. <strong>Student</strong>s may also keep any and all prescription medications at the Health Center.<br />

F. HEALTH FORMS<br />

If you need a copy <strong>of</strong> your health form sent to another school, please submit a written request and $2 for faxes, and<br />

$2 for mailed health forms.<br />

G. HEALTH CENTER REGULATIONS<br />

1. <strong>Student</strong>s seeking medical attention are asked to wait in the lobby area until called into the <strong>of</strong>fice by the nurse or<br />

student receptionist.<br />
