N. Albany Medical<br />

Summary-While serving on the Albany Medical Center team, students will have the unique opportunity to<br />

interact with children staying at the Albany Medical Center. Teams will be responsible to plan activities and<br />

crafts for the children. You will also have the opportunity to serve at the Ronald McDonald house to be a<br />

testimony to the families and employees working there.<br />

O. Campus Music Team<br />

Summary – The Campus Music Team is the Praise Band made up <strong>of</strong> bass, acoustic and electric guitarists,<br />

a drummer, keyboardist and vocalists. Teams will assist in Sunday Worship Services, Chapels, Snow<br />

Camp and several outings at various churches or Christian ministries<br />

P. Public School Release Time<br />

Summary -Release Time is an established after school ministry in the Schroon Lake Central School. Each<br />

week teams will have the opportunity to lead games and songs, teach a lesson, or help review the memory<br />

verse. Be prepared to use the gifts and abilities God has given you, as well as step out <strong>of</strong> your comfort<br />

zone to participate in sharing the Gospel each week, Thursday, 2:00-4:00PM.<br />

Q. WOL Inn Ministry Team<br />

Summary –The Inn Ministry team will travel 9 miles up the lake to <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> Inn and spend multiple<br />

weekends ministering to the guests. While staying up at the Inn, involvement will include childcare, guest<br />

hosting, serving, and event programming. This ministry has a wide range <strong>of</strong> opportunities.<br />

R. Open Door Soup Kitchen<br />

Summary –<strong>Student</strong>s serving at the Open Door Soup Kitchen will travel every other Monday to serve meals<br />

and interact with those in need in the Glens Falls area.<br />

S. Albany Rescue Mission<br />

Summary -The Capital City Rescue Mission <strong>of</strong> Albany, NY will provide students on this team with the<br />

opportunity to serve through a work project, leading chapel services, and serving the guest dinner.<br />

T. STORM/FASCAR Team<br />

Summary –Also Known as “Fusion”, these teams will work closely with the team <strong>of</strong> IDP students assigned<br />

to coordinate local STORM and FASCAR rallies. These events are operated through the local church and<br />

will provide exciting opportunities to interact with both teens and children with the goal <strong>of</strong> presenting the<br />

Gospel in a rally type setting. Your team will be on the road multiple weekends each semester, including 4<br />

during Snow Camp.<br />

U. Off Campus Childcare<br />

Summary -This ministry opportunity is open to 2 students interested in coordinating student volunteers for<br />

a bi-weekly childcare ministry to our <strong>of</strong>f campus students.<br />

V. Individualized Ministry (Second Year Only)<br />

Summary - As a second year student, you have the opportunity to tailor a ministry to your specific interests<br />

and abilities. This will require a detailed ministry proposal to be approved through the <strong>Student</strong> Ministry<br />

Department. Forms are available at the Command Center. Depending on the nature <strong>of</strong> your ministry<br />

proposal, you may be required to provide your own transportation.<br />

VI. Service Assignments<br />

A unique aspect <strong>of</strong> the Ministry Department is the area <strong>of</strong> Service Assignments. Service Assignments provide<br />

each student the opportunity to develop: team work, a godly work ethic and hands on training in various areas.<br />

Service assignments cover every area from maintenance to housekeeping and from food service to<br />

administration. Each individual student is key in ensuring the operation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> as a whole. <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Life</strong> is committed to the evangelism and discipleship <strong>of</strong> youth. Manthano a derivative <strong>of</strong> the Greek means “to<br />

learn by putting what one learns into experience.” Perhaps one <strong>of</strong> the greatest lessons that we teach others is<br />

not so much in what we do, but in how we do it.<br />

There are two types <strong>of</strong> service assignments that are scheduled throughout the year: regular service<br />

assignments and Sunday service assignments. Here is a specific definition <strong>of</strong> each:<br />
