In <strong>2009</strong> our EEO vision was progressed<br />

through a range of initiatives that included:<br />

Participating in the Department of Labour’s<br />

Pay and Employment Equity Review.<br />

Providing additional EEO information for<br />

staff via our intranet.<br />

Promoting cultural events and support<br />

for Māori and Pasifi ka staff and students,<br />

including pōwhiri, Matariki, Māori Language<br />

Week, National Kapa Haka event, Waitangi<br />

Day celebrations, Kawhia Kai Fest,<br />

International Week celebrations,<br />

and Whanau Day.<br />

Continuing our participation in the<br />

Mainstream Employment programme,<br />

whereby we work with community<br />

agencies to facilitate employment at<br />

<strong>Wintec</strong> for people with signifi cant disability.<br />

We currently have mainstream employees<br />

in the School of International Tourism,<br />

Hospitality and Events, Human Resources<br />

and Student Learning Services.<br />
