In <strong>2012</strong>, Wintec had eight strategic<br />

approaches which promoted a ‘whole<br />

of organisation’ view of quality<br />

and innovation while increasing<br />

our visibility and role as a tertiary<br />

education provider.<br />

These strategic approaches guide<br />

our direction and decision making.<br />

Employer and community engagement<br />

Our aim is to have effective engagement with employers, industry<br />

and communities, which is central to ensuring that our provision of<br />

education and services is driven by the needs of employers and<br />

the region.<br />

Flexible learning<br />

Our aim is to have flexibility for student learning, using a range<br />

of delivery options. We will increasingly adopt new learning<br />

technologies to enhance the effectiveness, and the students’<br />

experience, of study. This increased flexibility will also be a major<br />

contributor to our goal of meeting employer requirements for<br />

flexible, on-and-off job training opportunities.<br />

Internationalisation<br />

Our aim is to ensure we are a key part of New Zealand’s globallyconnected<br />

education system, and further strengthen our capability<br />

in export education.<br />

Organisational capability and modernisation<br />

Our aim is to be recognised as an efficient, effective, and modern<br />

organisation with a high-performing workforce, advanced<br />

infrastructure, and business processes and facilities appropriate<br />

to a leading institute of technology.
