Chapter 7. Environmental Concerns
Introduction
Environmental Services (ES) is a unit of APHIS Policy and Program
Development Staff. ES manages the preparation of environmental
documentation, such as environmental impact statements and environmental
assessments, to aid in program operational decisions. ES also coordinates
pesticide registration and approvals for APHIS pest control and eradication
programs, ensuring that registrations and approvals meet program use needs
and conform to pesticide use requirements.
Disclaimer
All uses of pesticides must be registered or approved by appropriate federal,
state, and/or tribal agencies before application. Pesticide labels may not reflect
all state or local restrictions. Read and abide by the label, including labeling
that has been approved for the particular state or locality. Comply with all
federal, state, tribal, and local laws and regulations relating to the use of the
pesticide. APHIS program staffs are responsible for their compliance with
applicable environmental regulations.
