The number of <strong>Palestinian</strong> nuclear families is 166,296, representing 77.8% of all <strong>Palestinian</strong><br />
private households compared to 71.8% of households in 1997, the percentage of extended<br />
private <strong>Palestinian</strong> households in the Gaza Strip declined from 25.3% in 1997 to 19.4% in<br />
2007, indicating that the number of nuclear household has increased in lieu of extended<br />
households. There is a slight decrease in the percentage of one-person <strong>Palestinian</strong> households<br />
from 2.6% in 1997 to 2.5% in 2007. Composite households constitute the remainder of<br />
households with 0.2% in 2007 and 0.3% in 1997.<br />
4.4 Final Results of Housing Unit Numbers<br />
The findings of the census show that; the number of occupied housing units in the Gaza Strip<br />
is 214,760 housing units, The apartments constitute 60.9%, houses 36.6%, villas 1.5%, 0.5%<br />
of occupied housing units represent independent rooms, Tents, marginal and other types, and<br />
0.4% of housing units not stated the type.<br />
