Mushroom Production and Value Addition<br />
Description of Technology<br />
The farmer processes the mushroom in dried form and then<br />
makes its powder to sell in the market. This powder fetches a<br />
good price about Rs. 400/kg in the market. It is cost effective,<br />
easy to prepare and reduces post harvest losses, thus extend the<br />
shelf life of the produce. Dried mushroom (whole or powdered<br />
form) can be used in the preparation of mushroom soups,<br />
mushroom biscuits, mushroom nuggets, mushroom ketchups,<br />
mushroom candy, mushroom preserve, mushroom chips etc. He<br />
is producing two varieties i.e. Dhingri and Button mushroom.<br />
From this mushroom production technology, he is earning<br />
approximately Rs. 40,000 annually. Besides, he has employed<br />
120 labourers per unit and inspired thirteen other farmers of the<br />
village.<br />
