' She was the wife of the late Theodore H, Kendall, former president of Sbuth Jersey Gas Company. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in 1921," Dr. Kendall received her medical degree frofin Women's Medical College in Philadelphia., , . She interned at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1926 and was a medical staff physician at the Philadelphia Co., a utjlity in Pittsburgh, from 1926 until 1937. . Dr. Kendall was a medical staff physician for the Mt Lebanon (Pa.) Public Schools from 1943 to 1953. She was a member of the American Medical Association for 50 years, the American Medical Women's Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Association, the New Jersey, Medical Association, the Atlantic City Medical Center Auxiliary, the Childrens' Seashore House Auxiliary, the Woman's Club of Atlantic City, the Longport Civic Association, the Atlantic City Country Club, and the Margate Community Church Auxiliary, where she was a member of the church for more than 40 years. Bom in Pittsburgh, she graduated from Donora High School in 1919, where she was the captain of the girls champion basketball team. She is survived by a son, Theodore H. Jr. of Somers -Pdiht;and a sister,Dr. Frances K. JaskeUot Pittsburgh. Services were Saturday at the Margate Community Church, Margate. He initiated several programs to provide communication, information and counseling services to the University's large number of commuting students. He. also conducted the Search Retrear. Program in the Office of Campus Ministries and was a resident counselor for students in Gavigan HalL Simmcais was active in the Judaic Studies Institute and;" as a member of the American Professors for Peace in the Middle East, was part of a two-week study mission to'the MidcUe East in 1987 to explore options for peace in that region. He was a memljer of the American Association for Counseling and Development and the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators. Simmons graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia then entered the Society of Jesus in 1946, in Wemersville. He earned a bachelor's in philosophy and a master's in English at Loyola University of Chicago, a degree in philosophy at West Baden, Ind., and a degree in theology at Woodstock College, Md. Simmons served his regency at Loyola High School in Baltimore and his tertianship in Muenster, Germany. He^ was ordained in 1958 at Woodstock. He is survived by two brothers; Dr. Bernard Simmons of Sarasota, Fla., and Richard Simmons of Westminster, Md.; a sister, Patricia WilliamSof Ocean City, N.J. Viewing was in Campion Hall on the University of Scranton campus.
