The School Improvement Team meets monthly. The plan is developed and refined each year and is implemented
and monitored throughout the year. The achievement of the goals and objectives in the School Improvement Plan is
evaluated yearly, and modifications are made to the plan for the coming school year as needed.
For more information regarding the school improvement process in your school, please contact your principal. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
web site on school improvement (www.ncpublicschools.org) can also provide you with additional information on what schools are doing about improving student
performance.
STUDENT INSURANCE
The Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools carry accident insurance for every PreK through 12 th grade student attending
the school district for any accident that occurs during a school-sponsored activity. This policy provides benefits for
loss due to a covered injury up to the maximum benefit of $25,000 for each injury. This accident insurance
coverage is secondary to other collectible insurance. Additionally, parents are offered the opportunity each school
year to purchase additional student insurance at a very reasonable price. Athletes are encouraged to purchase
additional insurance.
Questions concerning a claim should be directed to the American Advantage Marketing Group at 1-800-232-9601.
A claim form must be filed. Claim forms are available at each school.
Additionally, the Nash-Rocky Mount Public School System provides a Liability Catastrophic Plan for all high
school and middle school athletes. The coverage offered under this policy does not replace the basic Student
Accident Coverage or waivers but is intended to protect the schools against cost arising out of very serious injuries
($25,000).
