<strong>NFA</strong>-NCA holds team building<br />
Employees of Northwestern<br />
Cagayan Apayao (NCA), headed by<br />
Provincial Manager Armando Ray C.<br />
Villacorta, conducted an annual two-day<br />
team-building activity at the Sun City<br />
Cagayan Holiday and Leisure Resort on<br />
April 19-20.<br />
The two-day teambuilding<br />
renewed the vigor and spirits of the<br />
employees as they were subjected to various<br />
games and activities that tested their skills<br />
as individuals, as well as a unified group.<br />
The group was also treated to a fine dining<br />
experience at one of Sun City’s plush<br />
restaurants.<br />
The said activity further<br />
strengthened the bond and relationship of<br />
the employees. The employees always look<br />

<strong>NFA</strong> Zambales meets barangay captains,<br />
nutrition scholars, farmers<br />
<strong>NFA</strong> Zambales held a meeting<br />
with the Association of Barangay Captains<br />
(ABCs), barangay nutrition scholars and<br />
farmer-leaders last July 5 at the municipality<br />
of iba. The meeting was aimed at informing<br />
the latter about the agency’s current<br />
programs and activities.<br />
ABC president Salvador Rolando<br />
of Barangay Amungan in Iba delivered the<br />
opening remarks. <strong>NFA</strong> Provincial<br />
Operations Officer Fe M. Yap started the<br />
meeting with a pronouncement that the<br />
National Food Authority is supportive of<br />
the Department of Agriculture’s Food<br />
Staples Self-Sufficiency Program (FSSP)<br />
through massive palay procurement this<br />
main cropping season. She enumerated the<br />
simplified requirements in securing farmer’s<br />
passbook for individual and cooperatives.<br />
She informed that passbook will be free of<br />
charge and ID pictures shall be provided<br />
forward to this<br />

Provincial Standard Quality<br />
Assurance officer (PSQAO) jimmy M.<br />
Mallari discussed Republic Act 8976 that<br />
calls for the mandatory fortification of four<br />
basic commodities such as rice, flour,<br />
refined sugar and cooking oil to reduce the<br />
prevalence of iron-deficiency.<br />
PSQAO Mallari presented the<br />
new Equivalent Net Weight Factor<br />
(ENWF) for PD1/PW1 and PD3/PW3<br />
and parameters for such varieties with the<br />
corresponding price of palay if sold to<br />
<strong>NFA</strong>. He said that the new parameters will<br />
command higher prices compared to the<br />
previous classifications that would mean<br />
more profits to farmers. The branch will<br />
procure wet palay based on the capacity of<br />
dryer to better serve the farmers. He said<br />
that a drying incentive fee of P0.20/kg shall<br />
strengthening intrapersonal relationships.<br />

discussed additional incentives that can be<br />
availed of by farmer cooperatives if they<br />
sell their produce to the agency such as<br />
Cooperative Development Incentive Fee<br />
(CDIF), farmer’s Incentive Rice Purchase<br />
Program (FAIR), Farmer’s Option to Buy<br />
Back (FOBB), Institutional farmers as<br />
Distributor/Farmers as Importer (IFAD/<br />
FAI), <strong>Grains</strong> Exchangne Program for<br />
Farmers Organizations and Retailers<br />
Association (GEPFORA), and Palay<br />
Marketing Assistance Program for<br />
Legislators and local Government Units<br />
(PALLGU).<br />

said that rice distribution of <strong>NFA</strong> will<br />
depend on the present inventory and the<br />
required inventory level to be maintained
