10 Check that the ladder/stepladder is correct access equipment for the required tasks.<br />

60 Is the ladder/stepladder storage location suitable?<br />

70 Is the ladder/stepladder clearly identified and on a register. (Within SHE 6)<br />

80 Inspect the ladder/stepladder to ensure it is in good condition, clean and free from slippery substances.<br />

90 Inspect the ladder/stepladder feet for any signs of damage, wear and security.<br />

100 Inspect the ladder steps and rungs for signs of damage, wear and security.<br />

110 Is the ladder/stepladder safely positioned in relation to pedestrians, traffic, overhead cables, etc?<br />

130 In the case of extension ladders, is there sufficient overlap between sections?<br />

140 In the case of stepladders, are stays, chains and cords secure and in good condition?<br />

145 Ensure the correct colour coded tag is affixed<br />
