restaurant that replaced the Asian one at the
Jalta Hotel. Grilled meats and pastas dominate, but
there's also a fun tapas menu. The interior is cool and
classy; service respectable. The fettuccine with seasonal
vegetables, the tuna steak or any of their salads are all

Fluidum is as smooth as its name suggests;
a good wine list complements the small yet varied
menu. We sampled perfect calamari, steak (not cooked
to specification but so very tender), pork tenderloin and
salmon, all prime cuts. Vegetable sides are a welcome
sight and the bread is warm and served with garlic oil.
Czech dishes and pasta make slightly cheaper choices
and there is a gourmet menu available. Subtle lighting,
comfortable seating and service. Delicious. QOpen

www.olivarestaurant.cz. The superb Le Bistrot de Marlene
is a hard space to fill, but Oliva, while being a wholly different
restaurant, has managed to keep folks happy with its Mediterranean
flair and flavour. A one-time chef from La Perle de
Prague provides a succulent, sense sensation with almost
every dish to counter the somewhat twee interior. Theme
nights with guest chefs, a good wine list and superb olive
oils add to the great service and menu. Tram N° 3, 7, 16, 17,

is enormous, amusing, and with some topless shots to
keep you turning the pages. The spice in the air and eyes
bodes well for chilli-ed authenticity. Chimichanga is as tasty
as it's fun to say, steaks are large and tender, vegetarian
options abound, cocktails are cheap and delivery is available.

Mexican fare with drinks in the same vein: mojitos and
margaritas, in fact, the bar does a fair business on its
own, apart from the spicy food on offer in the restaurant.
Excellent, spicy nachos. Although we're not too sure about
the OTT neo-Alamo décor, Azteca offers good fajitas, enchiladas
and quesadilla, along with over 25 types of tequila.
Lunch menu 70Kč but there’s nothing Mexican on it. Good

warm and atmospheric Mexican, serving Texan-sized portions
of decent grub and small swimming pool sized margaritas that
slip down far too easily. The fajitas are excellent, although we
suggest you may want some extra salsa to add some zing.

not just on your ears. The décor is bright and in your
face, and while you can disappear in the labyrinthine
rooms, it may also mean the waiters can't find you
again. Good Czech-Mex and cocktails are available in
this popular though somewhat pricey chain restaurant.

Baroque and step into this cool oasis of masterful mosaics,
oriental carpets and sweet tobacco smoke bubbling
from water pipes. Dishes run the gamut of Middle Eastern
delights and drinks are concocted from recipes gathered
from around the globe. Authenticity's evil side is witnessed
in the squat toilet offered to horrified tourists (there are

restaurant and cultural space - a programme of events,
music and exhibitions is ongoing - hidden along the river
but sadly without a terrace. The wide and authentic
menu more than makes up for this. Traditional cuisine,
fuul medames, stuffed vine leaves, lamb, grilled meats,
fattoush and much more join fewer Indian offerings. Water
pipes add to the ambience. Delicious, open for breakfast

- the menu boasts a variety of yummy dishes
like hummus, falafel, chicken masala and beef fillet.
We are very impressed with Chef Sunny Passi - he's
got a way with flavors. The restaurant is above a
café and music club; but no loud music worries, the

A pizza-maker slaving away in front of the flames of a
wood-burning oven is the only spectacle you'll witness
at this coliseum. Sample excellent pastas and pizzas
made with real mozzarella in a rustic setting. Try the

decked out in football scarves serves the closest thing to a
New York-style pizza that we’ve seen in Prague. What’s more
amazing is that it also provides as much oregano and spicy
